Lakeshore Lodge

Lakeshore Lodge is a small privately owned lodge on the southern shores of Lake Tanganyika, the world’s longest and second deepest lake. It is set within a small sheltered bay with beautiful views across the lake to the Congo, and to nearby islands, and the lodge also has a spectacular backdrop with the mountains that rise just away from the lake.

Accommodation & Facilities
The lodge offers a variety of accommodation, all with lake views, from the simple bandas to luxurious and very stylish chalets. The chalets are right on the beach and are very spacious, well ventilated, and provide great comfort with en-suite bathrooms, sun beds, and big beds. The bathrooms have big, powerful showers and flush loos. The thatched roofs, thick walls and white paint make the rooms wonderfully cool.

Wildlife & Activities
Lakeshore Lodge has its own farm, and meals are prepared using fresh produce grown here. Many of the staff are from the local village, and as a result the lodge enjoys excellent relations with the local people. The activities on offer include village visits, bush walks, quad biking, kayaking, swimming and snorkelling in the clear waters of the lake, and the only PADI dive centre on Lake Tanganyika. The diving is excellent with great visibility, warm water and a huge variety of fish species that live nowhere else but this beautiful lake. Alternatively guests can relax in the comfort of their rooms or in the spacious bar and lounge.
