Little Vumbura

Little Vumbura is a beautiful small tented camp situated on a riverine island in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Access into this area is only by aircraft, and when water levels are high enough guests will be transferred from the airstrip to camp by mokoro and or boat.

Accommodation & Facilities
The six tents are large and comfortably appointed, with an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, shower and flush loo. The dining area and bar is under canvas amongst the trees, but one of the highlights is dinner on the outside wooden decks, situated on the floodplain and under the stars. The camp has a plunge pool for hot afternoons.

Wildlife & Activities
Little Vumbura offers water and land activities. Mokoros (dug-out canoes) traverse the flood plains with experienced polers when the water levels are high enough, and open 4×4 vehicles allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas, which could include lion, leopard, elephant, sable, giraffe, lechwe and buffalo. Walking safaris with an experienced guide (which must be pre-booked) and night drives give guests the opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective. For the adventurous, scenic helicopter flights of varying lengths can be arranged year round for an additional fee, and are a spectacular way to see this beautiful wilderness from the air; please note that they are weather dependent.
