Mapazi Camp – now closed

** Mapazi Camp is now closed.  Alternative camps you might consider are Luangwa Bush Camping and Chiokoko Tree Camp **

Mapazi Camp is owned by Deb Tittle, one of Africa’s finest walking safari guides. The camp has a remote, peaceful and beautiful setting overlooking Zambia’s renowned Luangwa River. Located in the northern part of South Luangwa National Park, Mapazi is well positioned in a grove of mature trees, which offer good shade.

Accommodation & Facilities
Mapazi Camp accommodates six guests at a time, in simple Meru-style safari tents which have mesh sides to allow the breeze to keep them cool. Each tent has a nearby private bathroom, which has a flush loo and a bucket shower. The camp has a mess tent which has a bar, lounge and dining area, and meals are often eaten outside around the fireplace.

Wildlife & Activities
Exciting walking safaris are the essence of Mapazi, and the wildlife viewing on foot is unsurpassed with Deb guiding every walk. With food and water supplies, there is a good wildlife population in the neighbourhood, with lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, zebra, and hyena are among the species that guests might see. The birdlife is also prolific, thanks to the varied habitats and the river.
