Mashatu Euphorbia Villas

Mashatu Euphorbia Villas are hidden away in a euphorbia forest on a cliff in the Mashatu Game Reserve. Mashatu is a 31,000 hectare privately owned wildlife sanctuary situated at the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers in the northern Tuli area of Botswana. The reserve is rich in wildlife, birds, and plant-life.

Accommodation & Facilities
Mashatu Euphorbia comprises eight villas, shaped to resemble the seed pod of the mopane tree which is a critically important dry season food source for wildlife. The villas have en-suite bathrooms with an indoor and outdoor shower and a bath, huge beds, a desk, a lounge space inside, and day beds on the deck which also has a private solar heated plunge pool, and super views over Majale River. The main lodge has a viewing deck, boma, bar, lounge and dining room. The lodge welcomes guests of 16 and over.

Wildlife & Activities
Mashatu is famous for large herds of elephants and impressive populations of cheetah, which breed in good numbers, along with lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe, wild dog, bat eared fox, jackal, and many plains antelope including eland, which are often seen at close quarters. Wildlife drives are conducted with a guide and tracker, and a maximum of four guests on each vehicle. Additional activities which can be booked at an extra cost include bush walks, mountain biking, horse riding, photographic vehicle and drone hire. There is also the opportunity to visit the ‘elephant hide’ which is at ground level by a waterhole frequented by elephants and lots of other wildlife. Pre-booking this unforgettable, and possibly wet, experience is strongly advised, and the presence of a photographic guide in the hide enables guests to take truly astounding photos.
