Meru Wilderness

Meru Wilderness Camp is a simple and exclusive tented bush camp in a peaceful and private location deep inside Meru National Park. Meru, at the northeastern foot of Mt Menya, has a remarkably varied landscape including numerous rivers, savannah and expanses of forest, and the camp is set up on request in a patch of verdant forest beside the Rojewero River.

Accommodation & Facilities
With up to four mobile style safari tents, the camp can accommodate groups of two to eight guests. The tents have en-suite bathrooms, and a shaded verandah at the front. The camp has a dining tent, but mostly guests eat in the dappled shade provided by the trees. Meals are prepared over an open fire and in a charcoal over, in true authentic safari style.

Wildlife & Activities
Meru National Park has a large variety of wildlife including black and white rhino, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, Grevy’s and common zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich and lesser kudu, along with an amazing number of bird species. Game drives in an open vehicle are a good way to explore the vast wilderness of Meru, which receives a very small number of visitors. The river beside the camp is a good spot for some fishing as well.
