Mombo Camp is located on the northern tip of Chief’s Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The camp is surrounded by seasonal waterways, and overlook a floodplain, which is normally full of the most incredible wildlife.
Accommodation & Facilities
The main camp at Mombo accommodates 16 people in eight superb canvas walled rooms built above ground and linked by board walks. The decoration in each room has been well designed and the view from your bed, verandah or the pool deck across the plain is breath-taking. The bar and dining area also enjoy a wonderful view with a spotlight on the deck in front of the dining room picking out predators crossing in front at night.
Wildlife & Activities
Mombo is renowned for its excellent wildlife viewing, and is particularly known for predator sightings. Lion, leopard, hyena, and wild dog might be seen, in addition to many elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lechwe and waterbuck. Drives in specially adapted open safari vehicles offer guests superb close up sightings, and the birding watching is also excellent. As the area has been protected for so long and the area is so fertile, wildlife numbers are high and animals are very relaxed around people and vehicles.
