Morukuru Farm House

Set within a 3,500 hectare private concession inside Madikwe Game Reserve, Morukuru Farm House is an exclusive safari house in the malaria free north west of South Africa, not far from the Groot Marico River. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Modelled on a traditional South African farmstead, Morukuru Farm House is arranged around a central courtyard and comprises five luxurious and spacious bedrooms set within the wings, linked to the central part of the house by covered walkways. Each room has a large en-suite bathroom, an expansive view out across the lawns to the African bush beyond, and understated high quality furnishings.  The house has a full complement of staff including a guide, tracker, host, butler, chef and housekeeping staff.

Morukuru Farm House sleeps 10 guests in its five bedrooms, but one extra child’s bed in a maximum of three rooms can be added, if required, accommodating a total of 13 guests. At Farm House there is also a pilot’s room very close, which could be used by a nanny or perhaps a few teenage kids. Outside the house are spacious, well tended lawns, and 100 hectares of fenced land that provides a huge area free from dangerous animals, in which children can run around and let off steam. The house has a large terrace for outdoors meals, and the pool is temperature regulated to 25 degrees centigrade and used year round. The pool does have steps and a shallow end, but it is not fenced or netted so parents need to be responsible for their children at all times.

Eating & Sleeping
As it is an exclusive use property, guests can dictate when they would like to eat and children can have separate meal times. Guests can complete a wish-list before arrival, indicating any food / drinks preferences or dislikes and specific dietary requirements allowing the kitchen to make the necessary purchases and plan the menu. A complimentary babysitting service is provided by a staff member – usually it is one of the housekeeping ladies.

Wildlife & Activities
Activities on offer at Morukuru Farm House include day and night game drives with your private vehicle and guides, walking safaris, fishing trips, bush meals, and the use of several hides for day time game viewing or exciting sleep outs.

Specifically for children…
Activities are tailor made for each family according to their needs and preferences. There are no age restrictions for game-drives and children of all ages can join in. Booster seats for the game drive vehicle can be provided if required. Other activities include:
• Nature walks for children in safe, fences areas of the concession.
• Fishing.
• Baking cakes and pizzas.
• Board games.
