Ongava Tented Camp

Ongava Tented Camp is set in the 30,000 hectare Ongava Game Reserve on the borders of the Etosha National Park which, nearly the size of Switzerland, is one of Africa’s largest game parks.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has eight en-suite Meru tents, each with its own verandah overlooking the waterhole. The tents, one of which is set up for a family, are huge, and have an ensuite bathroom and an outside shower.  The camp has a big thatched roof that covers the bar and lounge, and there’s an adjoining dining room and a small shop, although meals are often served round the camp fire or by the pool.

Wildlife & Activities
Mornings are spent viewing wildlife in Etosha, and in the afternoon guests look for rhino and lion on the private reserve. Night drives and walks can be arranged on the Ongava Reserve and there are some excellent hides for wildlife viewing here too.  Guests can see a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, lion, leopard, black and white rhino, springbok, gemsbok, giraffe and red hartebeest. Birdlife around waterholes close to Ongava Tented Camp is also good with ostrich, pygmy falcon and all the raptors in abundance. Tracking rhino on foot is a highlight at Ongava.
