Puku Ridge

Puku Ridge is a small and intimate tented camp in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, which is home to a large and varied population of wildlife. The camp is built on a hillside, providing an excellent view of the floodplain below and of the wildlife that frequents it.

Accommodation & Facilities
Guests are accommodated in eight huge tents roofed with eco-thatch, each with an attached traditional style ‘granary’ that houses the en-suite bathroom and has a sleep out deck on top. The beds have evening breeze cooling and overhead fans, and the bathrooms have a big bath, a flush loo, and inside and outdoor showers. The tents have plenty of seating space, easy chairs and a desk. At the front of the tent is a spacious wooden deck with loungers and a plunge pool. The camp has a lovely main building with a dining room, bar and lounge, plenty of outside seating on a large deck, an astronomy telescope and a sunken viewing hide.

Wildlife & Activities
The activities on offer at Puku Ridge include day and night wildlife drives and walking safaris, and the use of the viewing hide. The wildlife that may be encountered during a stay at Puku Ridge includes elephant, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and kudu. The bird life in South Luangwa is also prolific, thanks to the waterholes and the river.
