Siwandu
Siwandu Camp has a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Nzerakera in the Nyerere National Park, which is part of the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, the largest protected area in Africa. It is a vast, little known and undeveloped reserve with a great diversity of wildlife. Siwandu is in the peaceful northern section of the reserve in a particularly good wildlife area.
Accommodation & Facilities
Siwandu camp has ten large safari tents raised on platforms, and with en-suite bathrooms including a ‘star shower’. The tents are beautifully furnished, and spaced well apart to provide complete privacy. The camp has a dining room, lounge and bar with views of the lake, and a library and a pool.
Wildlife & Activities
At Siwandu, guests can choose from walking safaris, boat trips or wildlife drives in an open vehicle. The Rufiji River is a magnet for birds as well as having a high concentration of hippo and crocodile. Wildlife sightings on land, which are especially good between June and October, include wild dog, lion, giraffe and elephant.
