Takwela Camp

Takwela Camp has a very remote and secluded setting beside the confluence of the Mwaleshi and Luangwa Rivers. Shaded by a large grove of trees, the camp occupies a superb position in Zambia’s North Luangwa National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities
Takwela Camp has four chalets made from reeds, thatch and timber. The rooms have open air en-suite bathrooms, plenty of space and comfortable authentic furnishings. The camp has a dining room and bar, and the entire camp is positioned to make the best of the views of the rivers and the wildlife that comes to drink.

Wildlife & Activities
North Luangwa has a significant level of support from the Frankfurt Zoological Society, which funds excellent conservation and wildlife protection projects here. Wildlife viewing is superb, with large numbers of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and hyena seen, and occasional sightings of wild dog and black rhino. Day and night drives and walking safaris are on offer at Takwela.
