Tengile River Lodge

Tengile River Lodge has a beautiful setting in a riverine forest beside a bend in the Sand River. The Sand River traverses the fabled Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Accommodation & Facilities
Tengile River Lodge consists of nine rooms, built with environmentally friendly materials in a smart contemporary style. The rooms are set on raise decks with floor to ceiling windows to make the best of the wonderful view of the river, have air conditioning and thatched roofs to reduce interior heat during the summer and keep them warmer in winter. The large bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, the sala and the plunge pool all have views of the Sand River and the wildlife that comes to it to drink. The lodge has a central dining room, lounge and bar, and a massage room and gym, all of which are located to make the most of the outlook over the river.

Wildlife & Facilities
Wildlife viewing in Sabi Sand is astonishingly good, with black and white rhino, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hyena, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, hippo, crocodile and kudu all regularly seen. Drives in open safari vehicles are a good way to get close to the wildlife in the company of knowledgeable expert guides, and to witness interactions without disturbing the animals. For anyone wishing to get out of the vehicle, guided bush walks and birdwatching are also offered.
