Thanda Island

Thanda is a tropical Indian Ocean island just off the east coast of Tanzania and houses a single luxurious villa and two traditional bandas. Thanda island is booked on an exclusive basis and is a wonderful private getaway for a family or group of friends travelling together.

Accommodation & Facilities
The villa comprises five luxury bedroom suites, each opening directly onto the beach. The sumptuous living area is furnished with a Steinway grand piano and features an indoor aquarium. There is a glass, rim-flow swimming pool, dining area with wonderful ocean views, outdoor BBQ, cocktail bar and pizza oven. The two traditional Tanzanian bandas have a king-sized first floor bedroom and twin room on the ground floor. In total there are nine bedrooms on the island and up to 27 guests can be accommodated here. On hand to look after every need is a chef, butler, hostess, housekeeper, cocktail barman, boatman, snorkelling guide, dive instructor, fishing guide and spa therapist.

Wildlife & Activities
Thanda Island is situated in its own marine park and guests can swim with whale sharks and watch sea turtles nesting. Watersports enthusiasts can enjoy snorkelling, diving, fishing, jet skis, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, wakeboards, sailing and waterskiing. There is beach volley ball equipment, a tennis court, gym and yoga sala. Other activities include exploring nearby islands on the traditional dhow or taking a bird walk round the island with one of the in-house team.
