Honeymoon heaven with our fabulous special offers
Africa’s pristine wilderness areas, islands and beaches house some of the most romantic hideaway retreats anywhere in the world. For honeymooners, it’s a veritable paradise with all sorts on offer from dreamy star beds to dazzling private villas. We’ve done the digging to find the best honeymoon offers:
A Botswana legend
If you are looking for a camp with romance written all over it, Jack’s Camp in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans hits the mark. Think billowing, luxuriously furnished tents, an extraordinary desert location, a dining tent straight off a film set, and a blockbuster list of activities from classic wildlife drives to meeting meerkats and quad biking on salt pans so flat you can see the curvature of the earth.
Offer: Save £700 per night. Valid until January 2021
The Masai Mara is an obvious choice but if you’d rather follow a path less trodden have a look at Sarara Camp. This little gem in the remote Mathews Mountains combines the elegance of a traditional safari camp with all that’s needed by today’s traveller. The vast remote wilderness is home to the local Samburu people whose traditions are as much a part of the fabric of the land as the wildlife. It’s a truly magical spot that would grace the beginning of any marriage.
Offer: 50% off one partner’s accommodation. Valid 16 September – 31 October, 1 – 19 December 2020
Getting married can be an exhausting business so every honeymoon should have some downtime on the beach. Africa’s got the lot – from private islands and barefoot luxury to world class hotels. One of our absolute favourites is Kaya Mawa on the sandy shores of Lake Malawi. Sensational food, exquisite suites and beachfront cottages, it’s the perfect retreat to stop, take a breath and totally unwind.
Offer: Save 25% on nightly rate. Valid December 2020
Top notch Tanzania
Ornate architecture, spectacular views and some of the world’s best wildlife viewing combine to create something quite extraordinary at And Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge on the rim of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater. If you want to sweep your new bride off her feet it’s definitely one to consider; quite magnificent and right up there with Africa’s very best.
Offer: Bride pays 50% of nightly rate. Valid until January 2021
There’s sublime scenery all over Africa, and then there’s Namibia – where sublimity goes into overdrive. The landscapes are quite simply astonishing and the animal population is just as intriguing for its ability to adapt to the harsh desert environment. Newly opened Kwessi Dune is a top spot to disconnect from the world amid a colourful landscape of red dunes, fairy circles and craggy mountains. Break away from traditional vehicle drives and try horse riding, star gazing – out of this world – nature walks or a hot air balloon flight.
Offer: 25% off. Valid until January 2021
Romantic South Africa
The famous Kruger region is home to prolific wildlife and stunning lodges, but if you’re looking for a classic, romantic tented camp the options are surprisingly few. While we love a lodge, there’s something about being under canvas that makes safari special, which is why we’ve a soft spot for Tanda Tula. It’s intimate, just 12 tents amid trees lining a riverbank, elegant and wonderfully secluded in a private area crossed by few other vehicles. Star bed (a honeymoon must), star gazing, private dinners, bush breakfasts and big five wildlife drives – pretty perfect.
Offer: Stay three nights and save over £900. Valid all year.
A tiny speck in the Zanzibar Archipelago, Mnemba Island ticks the honeymoon box in every aspect. It’s intimate, just 12 chic bandas, exclusive and flexible with guests choosing exactly how and where they’d like to spend their days. There’s snorkelling, diving, swimming and kayaking for the active although the ‘doing nothing at all’ option is just as attractive.
Offer: Save £500 per night. Valid until January 2021
