Tongabezi – Dog House

Tongabezi is a luxurious lodge just upstream from Victoria Falls and a fabulous place to spend a few days at the beginning or end of a safari holiday.  It’s a great spot for families with lots of activities to keep children entertained.  Stay in the Dog House and you’ll have a prime river-frontage view as well as a private plunge pool, exclusive chill-out and dining area.

Time + Tide Chongwe River House

There are a handful of private safari houses scattered throughout the African bush and one of our favourites is Time + Tide Chongwe River House in the Lower Zambezi National Park.  It’s quirky design, varied range of family friendly activities, great guides and superb wildlife make it an all-round winner for a memorable safari.

Time + Tide Chinzombo

This glorious lodge is one of the most luxurious in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park.   Set in 60 acres of private land, Time + Tide Chinzombo comprises just six elegant suites, one of which is a lovely family room with two bedrooms and bathrooms.  Wildlife is prolific with wonderful opportunities to see elephant, hippo, giraffe, lion and leopard.

Time + Tide Mchenja

This lovely bush camp sits right on the edge of the Luangwa River and epitomises everything you’d expect in a small bush camp.  Stylish accommodation and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere it’s in the heart of some spectacular wildlife country, with elephant, hippo and crocodile all visible from the camp itself.

Robin’s House

Robin’s House is one of Zambia’s original safari houses and was once the home of Robin Pope, one of the region’s best known safari guides. Today it’s a super spot to be based to explore the South Luangwa National Park in the company of charismatic guides.

River Club

Don’t be deceived by the sophisticated colonial style of this lodge on shores of the Zambezi River close to Livingstone.  While it’s undoubtedly a grown-up spot it also welcomes children from the age of six and has a huge range of child-friendly activities on offer from croquet on the lawn to birding and insect safaris.

Luangwa Safari House

Before she joined Aardvark Safaris, Lucinda spend a year managing this lovely safari house.  Deep in the South Luangwa Valley National park it has exceptional views with wildlife always wandering past.  Activities are designed to suit each family so that everyone’s interests can be accommodated.

Kaingo Camp

This owner-run camp in the South Luangwa valley welcomes families with children aged 10 and over.  With its remote setting guests here can be sure of an undisturbed and exclusive safari.  The guides here are all family men and great with children.  The camp also has several wonderful hides which are great for really close up photo opportunities.
